History:
Shane was born in New York City, New York. He comes from a middle class family, his mother worked as a seamstress for a slightly upmarket clothing store which is frequented by a few of the rich and famous who would visit the city, whether for pleasure or work. His father owns and runs his own book and coffee store. His parents both come from their own middleclass families and so the whole Harlowe houshold was never without during Shanes childhood. Even with both his parents busy lifestyles Shane was never just abandoned with a nanny, when he wasn't in school and unable to stay alone in the house he would acompany his parents to work, alternating between his mother and father.
The beauty of Shane going with his mother to work meant he learnt how to mend and sew clothing - something he has never forgotting and thus why he keeps a sewing kit in his wardrobe. He hates having to throw out his favourite jeans or shirt, and so he can mend them. So his clothes can go along way. Especially since he can just update them - a button here, a snip there.. Either way, he was always glad of being able to see his parents work. It gave him a grounded sense where he knew that nice things didn't come easily and so never took anything for granted. Thus why he worked hard while in school, achieving high grades for his entire school career.
Though not everything in school was so rosy. When in eleventh grade his classmates found out a little secret about Shane. And it all happened at a party - that was where Shane had his first kiss. With another boy. Though don't assume that makes him gay. It doesn't. It makes him bisexual. Though Shane never openly admitted it. Not then, not now. He still to this day will not openly say out loud about his sexuality. That doesn't mean he won't date though - he has dated several women since high school and he also dated several men. Though his parents aren't aware of the men, and Shane likes to imagine they have no idea about his sexual preferences. Though that's too much to hope for. They know, and they are fine with it. But they've never mentioned it and probably never will.
Now, Shane you would imagine would follow in his parent footsteps when it came to getting a job, wouldn't you? But you'd be wrong. Throughout his life he always found a sort of.. solstice in music and knew he always wanted to get a job in the industry. Though Shane has no outstanding vocal talent and his only musical talent is playing the piano - and there isn't a lot of calling for that in the business. But the one thing he did learn and does excell in is the technical details of music, how it will rebound from a stage, how far it can be heard when at certain decibels and this is what brought him to Pyro. He knew the company toured and dealt with artists here in NYC and so he applied for a job, citing that he had experience in stage music. Which is true, he helped with school productions - but shhh.
Personality:
Shane is rather introverted guy. He prefers to keep himself to himself and just get on with whatever task he doing at that particular time. Though he is extremely hardwoking he is also very loyal to his friends and will drop everything to help them out. Though his loyalty runs deep when his friends turn on him he has no trouble dropping them and getting them back for whatever wrong they've done to him.
Outside of friendship and work he is rather shy, he finds it difficult to open up to new people unless there is an instant connection. He finds it hard to talk about his past and personality to those who aren't in his inner circle of friends. That itself a somewhat difficult thing to achieve. But as long as you can show him you are worth his time and can be trusted you'll get along well with Shane.
Shane, like every young person, enjoys a good party. And he also enjoys a good drink when he does party, though he tries to keep a sane head on his shoulders but sometimes he will cut loose. And he lets his inner party monster out, which is the only time you'll see him completely care free. And also the only time he will start a conversation with a random stranger. It's these times that Shane will make his mistakes - usually blurting out his minor secrets or kissing the wrong person. But in the morning he will remember - and he will pray that no one seen it.
